MBAfolio

How MBAfolio matches you.

A transparent, structured look at the way we classify programmes and personalise recommendations.

1. Information sources

MBAfolio uses only publicly available information — institutional websites, programme brochures, official curriculum disclosures and government education registers. We do not reproduce proprietary rankings, paywalled datasets or copyrighted ranking tables.

2. Programme classification

Each programme is classified across qualitative dimensions, expressed as tiers rather than spurious percentages:

  • Experiential learning — capstones, consulting projects, simulations.
  • Networking intensity — cohort scale, alumni reach, peer seniority.
  • Global exposure — international modules, exchange options, cohort diversity.
  • Leadership development — executive coaching, leadership labs, 360° tools.
  • Flexibility — modular, weekend, online, hybrid delivery.
  • Collaboration style — cohort cohesion, group work, learning teams.
  • Practical vs theoretical balance — applied learning vs academic rigour.
  • Digital learning experience — platform quality, async tooling.

3. Your priorities

During onboarding you tell us what matters most — networking, flexibility, global exposure, leadership development, practical learning, prestige, career transition or work/life compatibility. These priorities directly weight your match scores.

4. Match scoring

We combine your priorities with each programme's classification using a transparent rule-based engine. We deliberately avoid fake precision — you'll see qualitative descriptors like "Strong networking emphasis" or "Highly experiential" instead of percentages.

5. Why we don't use rankings

Traditional rankings optimise for a narrow set of metrics that rarely reflect individual fit. MBAfolio is intentionally fit-first. Where we reference institutional reputation, we use our own internally generated qualitative classifications.

6. Continuous review

Programme details change. We refresh classifications regularly and encourage you to verify critical details (fees, dates, admissions criteria) directly with each institution.

7. Limitations

MBAfolio provides personalised guidance, not admissions advice or guaranteed outcomes. No programme is universally "best" — the right choice depends on your circumstances.
